Preschool Curriculum
Our curriculum will cover the following Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten skills:
· Some letter recognitions and sound correspondence
· Recognizing their first name
· Retelling stories
· Concepts of Print - holding and pretending to read a book right side up and from front to back, understanding that letters make up words, recognizing certain pictures go with certain words
· Drawing pictures to represent objects and people
· Match, sort, trace, objects, letters, shapes, colors, numbers
· Recognize circle, square, triangle, rectangle, and other shapes
· Counting to ten and one-to-one correspondence
· Estimating
· Patterns
· Gross Motor (large motor) - balancing, climbing, kicking and throwing a ball, pedaling a tricycle, obstacle courses, starting and stopping, going faster and slower
· Fine Motor (eye-hand) - stringing, cutting, zipping, buttoning, pasting, painting, gluing, writing, coloring, etc.
· Following simple One and Two Step directions, rules, and procedures
· Engaging in conversations that develop a thought or idea
· Sing and move rhythmically to music, play simple instruments, and develop listening skills
· Expressing feelings and desires in a socially acceptable way, self regulation of emotions and behavior, and developing healthy relationships with other children and adults
· Rhyming, memorizing, predicting
· Self-help skills - dressing ones self, washing hands, brushing hair and teeth, preparing their mat for nap, serving themselves snack, using manners, and toilet training (for the 2 year olds)
· Learning of Jesus and God's Word
