Preschool Preparation is for two-year olds who have spent most of their time with you or other family members, or has had little interaction with other children.
Exploration and experimentation helps children discover the world around them and how they fit in. Children at this age are highly active, curious, and are beginning to assert their sense of independence. Our facility and staff will help your child reach their potential developmentally, satisfy their curiosity, assist in toilet training, and help them prepare for the preschool program.
We use a consistent daily schedule that enables children to follow a predictable routine to help their transition away from home easier. Consistency makes their day run smoother and gives them a sense of belonging and security. In addition, low teacher to child ratios allow for more individualized attention.
The program is offered from 9:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. We recommend enrolling two days a week. Childcare is available from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for those children who need care before and after class. Call to schedule an interview and tour. (916) 624-2123
Children who have turned three by Labor Day and are fully toilet trained should enroll in this class. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate allowing children to learn at their own pace and through different mediums. We try to reach each individual's need and learning style by offering a variety of learning experiences and encouraging them to express their ideas and creativity.
A consistent daily schedule is followed enabling children to have a predictable routine allowing them to feel comfortable and safe. Small class size provides a low teacher to child ratio allowing more individual attention. Monthly calendars and weekly newsletters keep parents informed of field trips, the theme and units of study, and any upcoming events. Parent conferences will be given twice a year to show your child's growth and progress toward meeting goals and developmental milestones.

Children who have turned four by Labor Day and are fully toilet trained should enroll in this class. Kindergarten readiness is a focal point of this class helping refine social skills, function in-group settings, and sitting for longer periods of time, as well as, other developmental skills. Our goal is to help create a love of learning and to help child reach their individual potential in all areas of development: mind, body, and soul.
To meet each individuals learning needs a variety of methods and styles of teaching will be used. A consistent daily schedule, classroom rules and regulations are followed thereby, reducing surprise, anxiety, and mischief and creating a positive learning environment. Praise and genuine interest is given to each child.
A written schedule and calendar of events, themes, and units of study will be given to parents monthly. Parent conferences are provided twice a year to discuss growth and development, and to establish goals for the coming months.

Kindergarten is the foundation to a child's future educational goals. At Holy Cross Lutheran Preschool our goal is to provide both a learning environment and activities that are developmentally suitable for our students while meeting the required California School Standards. Furthermore, our students also receive instruction on the Word of God and His teachings. The curriculum to be used is Houghton Mifflin (Reading/Language Arts, Social Science), Saxon (Math), Scott Foresman (Science), and Concordia Press Voyages-Exploring God's World. By providing our students with a well-rounded beginning, they will have a stronger foundation for what lies ahead. Class size is limited to 10 children.
The school age program is designed to assist children with their homework and to provide time for school age children to be creative through art, music, and drama. Time will be allocated for free choice, centers, and recess. The following schools will be in our pick up area: Loomis Grammar, H Clarke Powers, Franklin Elementary, Rocklin Elementary, and Antelope Elementary. If your child attends another school you will have to make other arrangements to and from our school. Our drivers will have a valid driver license (copy on file), insurance required by the state of California (proof of insurance will be on file), background check, and be at least 25 years of age.
